8/28 - Coastal Trail Challenge & Half Marathon

Start/Finish: New Location: Yacht Road (1 block north of Marina Blvd. (off of Lyon). It is north of the Palace of Fine Arts and between St. Francis Yacht Club and Crissy Field.

Course Description: Runners start running west on Crissy Field and head west on Golden Gate Promenade. Just pass the Warming Hut, runners turn left and go up the stairs towards the Golden Gate bridge. After going under the bridge, runners are on the Coastal Trail & run next to Lincoln Blvd. Runners make their way onto Baker Beach for some sand running. Just before the water treatment plant, runners turn around & stay on the beach until they get to the Sand Ladder, which is a 400 yard vertical climb. At the top, runners turn left & retrace their steps to the start/finish line. Half marathoners continue east and run around Yacht Club monument and start the second loop. Aid station at the start/finish & the top of the Sand Ladder.
